I think in other countries a cellphone ban while driving has been around for years before the bluetooth and it’s still possible to talk on the phone and drive. In Singapore (the only country I can use as an example)they’d just require you to wear an earphone with a mouthpiece on the wire connected to your cellphone when you’re driving. However, I think the contraption suctioned to the windscreen that held your phone upright tended to help this situation out more (I’m not sure if it was government issued either… anywho, it was a small tiny country… they could enforce these things well). So even if people wanted to be safe while driving or cannot afford a classy pretentious looking bluetooth there are other options. Of course, if your only reason for not getting one is because you might look like a “douche” then by all means… more car accidents pour vous.
